The Chinese government recently announced at a bilateral meeting with the foreign ministry that they would open a consulate general in Bali.

According to Foreign Minister Mr. Marty Natalegawa, Indonesia supports the Chinese intention to open a consulate general in Bali.

Chinese tourists visited  Bali in record numbers during 2012 with visitors from China numbering 618,223 people compared to 573,400 the year before.

The two countries recorded a trade volume worth 51.04 billion US dollars in 2012.
