Latest statistics have shown July 2011 outperformed August, which is normally the peak season for the highest number of foreign tourists visiting Bali at that time. Although August 2011 recorded 258,377 arrivals it was a decrease of 8.87% in the total number of arrivals in July. However it is interesting to note that August 2011 arrivals increased by 6.26% when compared with August of the previous year. When the numbers were broken down by nationality, Australians were the front runners with China, Japan, France and Malaysia who followed with 10.18%, 6.99%, 6.68% and 4.86% respectively. The total number of foreign tourists arriving in Bali for the calender year ending August 2011 reached 1,845,510, an increase of 9.97% when compared to the same time period in the previous year.
