The Governor of Bali, has said the development of the Buleleng International Airport is currently on hold until after the conclusion of the presidential election.

Buleleng International Airport development plan, has been included in budgeting legislation, which will be submitted to the central government following the final conclusion of the presidential election.

Funding for the development of the Buleleng airport, which will be located in Kubutambahan, will have to come entirely from the central government. The land area required for the project, will be approximately six hundred hectares and is expected to cost approximately Rp. 3 trillion.

The Governor said he hopes the president-elect, will prioritize the development of the Buleleng International Airport. The Govenor suggested, if all goes to plan, we could see the new airport open in 2018.
