As more details emerged regarding the arrest of another Aussie tourist being in possession of drugs, a 31 year old male from Darwin has now been formally charged and will appear before the court for sentencing in the near future. Although charged initially with possession after only three days in Bali to attend his brothers wedding it is possible his charge could be reduced to drug addiction. In this event rather than facing a 12 year sentence in Kerobokan prison he may be looking at a much lower penalty. It was reported that the suspect had 0.4 grams of crystal methamphetamines wrapped in a tissue in his possession when police searched him. Authorities continually warn tourists coming to Bali not to get involved with drugs because of the severe penalities associated with this habit and at times you have to wonder if anyone is listening.
