Bali police recently reported high numbers of crime against tourists in 2011 is of concern with another 177 cases reported for the year. During the month of August, 31 cases were reported. These crimes were mainly centered around robbery, theft, pick pocketing and sexual abuse. However, it is interesting to note that crimes by foreign tourists increased with eighty eight people being reported during 2011. Bali police chief Totoy Hermawan hinted that with the current quality of increased numbers of tourist traffic heading to Bali these days suggests they are not all rich and perhaps desperate at times.
